About Kaleidoscope

What is Kaleidoscope?

Kaleidoscope is a powerful, flexible platform for business planning. Businesses can build a single, connected model of their business.

Why are you building it?

Kaleidoscope started with a simple idea — businesses deserve better than spreadsheets when it comes to planning.

Our founder and CEO, Michael Gould, has spent over 40 years building some of the world’s most advanced planning software. But those tools have only ever been available to the giants.

For most SMEs, planning hasn’t changed in decades. It’s time for software that truly meets the needs of modern, scaling businesses, away from the constraints of Excel spreadsheets.

What is Kaleidoscope's mission?

Our mission is to build the most powerful and flexible modelling engine for business planning — for the world beyond spreadsheets. We’re giving scaling businesses the same connected, collaborative, and intelligent planning power that was once only reserved for the enterprise.

Who is Kaleidoscope for?

Our platform is built for small and medium-sized product businesses — for example, retailers or eCommerce brands who make and sell or buy and sell physical goods.

Who in my company would use Kaleidoscope?

Right now we're working with eCommerce brands — from founders to operations and merchandising managers — can use Kaleidoscope’s out-of-the-box stock and sales solutions during early access.

Next, we’re expanding Kaleidoscope to spreadsheet experts and finance teams to help us refine our modelling platform with their input. We'll work with finance teams to build custom finance solutions for them, as a part of our Early Access Program.

When we launch, businesses will be able to build their own models from the ground up.

Do I need any training or technical skills to use Kaleidoscope?

Our current pre-built solutions are simple, visual, and intuitive — no spreadsheets, no formulas, and no data science degree required to plan stock and sales.

Kaleidoscope is designed to be a modelling platform where businesses can build their own models — creating, customising, and automating the logic that runs their business.

Setup & integrations

Can I start using Kaleidoscope today?

We are still building Kaleidoscope but we are working with a select group of businesses as part of our Early Access Program.

How much does Kaleidoscope cost?

Right now it’s free through our Early Access Program. You’ll get access to all features — and personal support — in exchange for honest feedback.

Once we launch we will offer subscriptions based on company size, starting from £50 per month, per pack. Visit our pricing page.

Does Kaleidoscope integrate with any other software?

Our pre-built Sales and Stock solutions connect directly to Shopify for an instant data sync of sales, product and inventory data. But any CSV file can be uploaded into Kaleidoscope to update the model. Learn more about the integration here.

As we develop our modelling platform, we will build out integrations with finance platforms such as Quickbooks and Xero.

Features & use cases

What can I do with Kaleidoscope?

Sales Planning and Stock Planning with our pre-build solutions.

With our core planning platform (once available), you connect your plans, numbers, and teams through a live model of your business. It’s where you can model, adapt, gather inputs, co-edit, explore “what-if” scenarios and instantly see the downstream impact of every possible outcome.

How does forecasting work?

The system generates sales and stock forecasts based on live data: from recent trends, historical performance, and sales rates, giving you the most realistic view of what’s ahead. You can also override with your own forecast numbers. Or let the model recommend adjustments.

When we launch our cash flow model, forecasts will be linked to your projected sales and purchasing activity. You will be able to include repayment schedules and simulate loans to see the impact over time.

Comparison to other tools

Isn’t this just another dashboard?

No — it’s not just analytics. Kaleidoscope helps you make decisions, not just see reports. It connects planning across your whole business, helping you look forward.

Can’t I just do this in a spreadsheet?

You can, but it’s slow and manual. Kaleidoscope gives you the planning flexibility you love in spreadsheets but connects your data seamlessly into a live model of your business — making it easy to analyse, plan, forecast, and make smarter decisions.

Your data is organised into Lists, Blocks, and Relationships, letting you build plans easily from shared data — with every calculation consistent, connected, and always up to date.

It saves you time, reduces mistakes, and scales with you as your business grows.

Is it like an ERP or MRP?

Some functionality overlaps, but Kaleidoscope is built specifically for small businesses — focused on planning, not just managing operations. It’s faster to set up and easier to use.

Is this a finance tool or FP&A app?

It covers some FP&A needs — like forecasting and cash flow planning — but is more flexible and collaborative. It's will be built for cross-functional teams, not just finance.

Support & feedback

What if I need help?

We help all of our customers get onboarded and fully implemented on the platform. Each customer is assigned a relationship manager who is available to support you on an ongoing basis.

Can I request features or give feedback?

We’re building Kaleidoscope in collaboration with our early users. You can suggest features or share what’s missing — and we’ll prioritize based on impact.

Trust & transparency

How do I know the platform is accurate?

We run rigorous testing, and the platform is built by a team with decades of planning experience. All calculations update in real-time, and bugs are fixed fast.

Is my data safe?

Yes. We follow best practices in data security and privacy. You can read our full privacy policy.

Why should I trust you?

Our founder and CEO, Michael Gould, has spent over 40 years building some of the world’s most advanced planning software — including Anaplan. Kaleidoscope is built by the same people, now focused on solving these challenges for small businesses.
